Brown rice, quinoa, irish oats, bulgar wheat

However, quinoa, pronounced keen-wa and technically a seed, is number one for a few reasons. It has a very high protein content, making it a healthful choice for vegetarians and vegans. But unlike wheat or rice, quinoa contains a balanced set of essential amino acids, making it an unusually complete protein source. Which is important! Quinoa has a pretty strong earthy taste, sort of nutty and vegetabley..? It is a delicious accompaniment to any meal, and a stellar nutritious breakfast when topped with honey or berries.

On a side note, Josh is going to see Watchmen tomorrow at midnight, leaving me here alone in our cold apartment. I’m not used to being myself, let alone at night! I would go but it’s almost four hours long and my attention span peaks at about 45 minutes. I guess I’ll snuggle up on the couch, tea in hand, computer in lap and watch a netflix movie.
